It's been a slow feel months but I'm finally back in Toronto and back to shooting! Last night I was able to cover I the Mighty's tour at the Hard Luck Bar. I the Mighty is one of those bands I've been listening to for years but never actually been able to see live so I was pretty ecstatic when I found out I could photograph them.
First up were locals, Static Prevails. I'd never heard of them before and unfortunately they had their set cut very short due to time constrictions but what they did manage to play though, sounded great. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see them again soon.
Next up were Picturesque. These guys are no strangers to Toronto, they played the Hard Luck just over a year ago when they came through with Our Last Night. I remember the first time I saw them I didn't know what to think. They sounded alright but nothing too special...last night however, they were amazing. It was really cool to see how much they've grown in just a year. Kyle was hitting all the notes this time and just overall they played better.
Another band I had never heard of but was really impressed by was Artifex Pereo. They brought a lot of energy and were just a lot of fun to watch play. Super nice guys too, check them out!!
Dayshell. I hate to be that person to bring up Of Mice & Men BUT being that they are one of my favourite bands and The Flood being my favourite record... I think I have to. To finally be able to hear the voice that sang My Understandings and The Great Hendowski was awesome. Shayley has one of the most incredible voices and if you've never heard it, you need to.
And of course, the last band to hit the stage was I the Mighty. I said this earlier but I was so excited to finally see these guys. They put on such a great show and it was fun watching the crowd really get into it.
